We made our name on being THE home for curly and textured hair. Don't get us wrong, we do beautiful extensions and gorgeous color, but we have the best stylists for curly hair in Kansas City - and apparently the country since we have a lot of clients come in from out of town. We don't like to brag, but we're proud of being the place that so many people trust with their hair - particularly those who have had some "hair trauma" in the past.
A lot of people say they have the best salon in Kansas City, but few have the awards and reviews to back it up. We do. Since opening in 2020, we have been named Best Salon in Kansas City three times (The Pitch KC: 2024, The Pitch KC: 2023, and The Pitch KC: 2021), Finalist for Best Stylist (The Pitch KC: 2024 & The Pitch KC: 2021), Finalist for Best Colorist (The Pitch KC: 2024), and were Kansas City Magazine's Runner Up for Best Salon in Kansas City (2023).

Our salon is focused on helping people have a better, healtheir relationship with their hair - which is a journey for most people. But, if you're willing to go with us on that journey, we believe you'll find your hair looking better than you could have ever imagined. Moxie by KC is a salon unlike any you've probably experienced before. From the aesthetic of the space, the client comforts, the vibe, and the skill of our talented stylists, there's a reason people love coming here.
The salon is bright and airy, with floor to ceiling windows bringing plenty of sun. Beautiful plants, ranging from pothos to cacti to Monstera, fill the salon and bring verdancy; custom cedar wood stations give rustic warmth. Neon signs and art give a bit of edge and fun.
We left no practical detail unaddressed either: custom shampoo beds provide comfort and relaxation during long services; steam treatments and top-of-the-industry products help soothe and improve your hair; and our dryer chairs let you get comfortable and enjoy a drink (or read, or play on your phone) while you dry.

Moxie
Kylie Crinnian is a woman on a mission. With over a decade of experience as a curly hair stylist and educator, she has made a name for herself in the industry as one of the leading artists for textured hair. Unfortunately, the larger industry often overlooks the prevalence of curly hair and the importance of stylists' education and abilities in dealing with texture - something she's actively working to change.
In 2020 she opened Moxie by KC with the goal of creating a space where clients could find skilled stylists specifically trained in curls, color, and extensions. She followed that up by re-igniting her curly education and certification program for stylists, Texture by KC, which has taught and certified dozens of stylists across the country in curls and texture.
The first lesson she teaches: how and why to lead with kindness and empathy.
