Welcome, New Clients!
If you've never been to Moxie by KC before, we may do things a little differently than other salons! For a Moxie Curls (New Curly Client) appointment, we take a bit of extra time with you to consult about your hair goals, current products, and to explain the process about your journey. Because each curl on your head is different - and we treat them as such - we ask you keep the following in mind:
- Please come with your hair dry and with minimal product. Day 1 or 2 hair is best.
- Because we cut and then wash/style, your hair must be in acceptable condition for us to work with. If we have to wash & style before cutting, your appointment will be longer (and will cost more).
- Do not come with your hair in a bun, ponytail, twists, straightened, or teased.
- If your hair tangles easily, please come with clean and dry (day 1) hair with no product (other than detangler - We love Innersense's Sweet Spirit Leave In or F18 Leave-in spray conditioner).
- We do charge hourly, so hair that is excessively tangled or matted will cost you more (as it takes more time).
- For curly color please come with your hair detangled and with minimal product as we often color curl-by-curl for the best dimension.

All of our colors are hourly with the exception of base touch-ups. Please keep in mind that large transformations (e.g. from dark to platinum blonde) or specialty colors may take multiple sessions; if you're thinking of a big change, feel free to book a consultation! The length of your service may be different than the estimated times due to things like your hair's porosity, damage, other color, etc.
- Clean and detangled hair is best for color services! Because the color we use is gentle, it can't penetrate build-up. Please come with Day 1 hair for the best outcome!
- For curly color please come with your hair detangled and styled curly as we often color curl-by-curl for the best dimension.
- If you arrive with your hair in unacceptable condition and we have to wash and/or detangle, your service will take longer and therefore cost more. Your help is appreciated!

- For installation, please come with your hair clean and dry, no product.
- For maintenance, if you would like us to wash your hair after the existing rows are removed but before they are reinstalled, please also book a blowout (which will be an additional charge).
How to Arrive:
Before booking an extension installation or maintenance (for new clients), you will need to book a consultation. That will allow your artist to take a look at your hair to determine the best way to meet your goals and/or maintain your existing extensions.
Most of the investment into extensions is in the hair itself, with the cost depending on how many rows, and their lengths, you have installed. The cost of installation and maintenance is separate from the cost of the hair. Maintenance is typically needed every 6-8 weeks depending on lifestyle and other factors.
Installation and maintenance costs are not hourly and are based on the number of rows installed/maintained. That rate is based on experience and training, and varies by stylist. Typically, it will take 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the number of rows.
